Books by Dr. Eva Benmeleh:
Sun and Moon Love Cloud: A Book About Divorce
This book came about after sessions with children whose parents divorced. Out of many play therapy themes, this one about the Sun, Moon, and Cloud seemed to depict the child’s struggle being caught in the middle of both parents. Dr. Eva Benmeleh used this theme to help the child express their feelings and share them with their parents.
Sun and Moon fall in love and have Cloud. Cloud enjoys having a different relationship each with Sun and with Moon. Cloud feels responsible for Sun and Moon’s fight over how they each play with it and tries to hide its feelings until it is too much for Cloud to handle. This book is from the child’s perspective of feeling caught in the middle of the parent’s divorce and feeling responsible to choose sides. The story focuses on major feelings felt by parents and children in the process of divorce.
